Originally from New York and now residing in the Boston area, Brandon White has enjoyed a varied career as a violist. From orchestral and chamber performance, to solo performance and premiering new works. A classically trained violist, White has been recognized as an analytical and forward-thinking musician with a love of all viola music and compositions. White holds a BM in Viola Performance from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, as well as an MM in String Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.White's teachers included Shelly Tramposh, and Lila Brown. White has performed in top venues in the Northeast such as Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. Currently serving as Principal Viola of Cape Ann Symphony, White can also be seen performing with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as other groups around the area. White is a founding member of the Lobster Cove String Quartet, and is also a member of the newly formed Cambridge Viola Quartet. Awards and honors include being a winner of the Richard Stephen Chamber Music Competiton in 2015 and 2017, being a representative of the string area for the Crane Honors Recital in 2016, being selected as a finalist for the Boston Conservatory Concerto Competiton in 2017 as well as winning the title of the Boston Conservatory Honors Ensemble from 2018-2019.
